This collection of musical numbers offers a foretaste of the shows in the 23rd edition of the Festival International Nuits d’Afrique, letting listeners discover or rediscover the variety of world music styles. On this album can be found the clear urge to bring out international artists who have build the renown of world music as well as local artists who are bringing these forms of expression to life in Quebec. Typical voices, energetic beats, the gentlest ballads and sometimes startling sonorities inhabit this surprise-filled album, as pleasing to well informed amateurs as to newly curious ears.
