Description of the concert:

In Malinké, a Mandinka language, Benkadi means “In unity lies strength.” It is perhaps the energy they tap into in their name that earned them the 2012 bronze recipient of the Syli d’or de la Musique du monde. The power they use in hitting a whole range of West African percussions is not alien to this recognition, nor are the frenetic dances they perform non-stop. Enlivening!
