Coro Cênico Brasileiro
It is an artistic group that celebrates the diversity of Brazilian culture and music in Montreal. Its purpose is to spread Brazilian popular culture through the production and presentation of artistic performances that highlight important aspects of Brazilian culture and popular music still little known outside of Brazil. By singing, dancing and performing, the group seeks to present to the public a Brazil beyond Samba and Bossa Nova. Under the artistic direction of Taia Goedert and the musical direction of Auro Moura, the Brazilian Scenic Chorus is composed of 30 adult singers and 10 children and teen singers who join the Choir des Jeunes. The group began operations in August 2015 and presented its first public performance in December of that year. In December 2016 the group presented its second show named “Saudade, meu remédio é cantar” (Nostalgia: my cure is singing). The show was presented to the audience of the Grande Bibliotèque (BAnQ) in two sold-out sessions, for a total audience of 600 people.
