The Indonesian volcano Krakatoa is known for its explosive nature. Krakatoa is also a group from Quebec that shares with the volcano the same natural energy. Through out it’s music the group builds bridges between jazz-fusion, progressive rock and world music. Three influences that come from the rich musical heritage of each members of the group.
Richard Duval discovered the saxophone at the Expo67 in Montreal, he was then aged nine. Since that time he never gave up the instrument, and has accompanied various groups through different musical styles. Robert Duval, Richard’s brother, is also passionate about music, it’s behind a drum set that he expresses his creativity. The group is completed by another musician from Uruguay; Gustavo Zecharies, specializing in the 12-strings guitar. Between them, they offer bubbling notes and rhythms that carries the listener through an infinite range of “soundscapes”.
