Lagos, in the 70s, with its huge population and its feverish, animated, noisy streets. That is the hypnotic and dizzying atmosphere into which the eight musicians of Afrodizz plunge their audiences. Guitar, trumpet, drums, bass, percussions, saxophones. In English and Yoruba. Since 2002, Afrodizz has been the gold standard of Afrobeat in Canada. First popularized by Fela Kuti, the group makes this raw, intense musical genre its own, drawing from traditional Nigerian rhythms, highlife, funk and jazz and incorporating its own urban touch of rock and hip hop.
