BALAFOLA

Balafoniste, percussionniste (djembé,doundoun, bara, tama), joueur de n’goni (instrument traditionnel africain s’apparentant à la guitare ou à la harpe), chanteur et auteur-compositeur, Mamadou Koita est un musicien virtuose originaire du Burkina Faso. 

Il est né et a grandi dans l’univers musical des griots de l’ethnie Bwaba. Dès son plus jeune âge, il a appris à jouer du balafon avec son père, qui était lui-même fabriquant et grand joueur de balafon. 

Mamadou a participé à de multiples festivals et événements au Burkina Faso, en Afrique et au Québec. Il se dédie maintenant à transmettre sa passion tant aux enfants qu’aux plus grands.

Balafola, dirigé par Mamadou Koita, combine les rythmes traditionnels mandingues (balafon, percussions et chant), au funk, jazz et reggae.

The legendary Club Balattou, and all its team, is happy to open its doors to you, with the “Cabaret acoustique Nuits d’Afrique”.
It is a whole program that awaits you, especially concocted for the public! You will be able to enjoy live performances every week, from Thursday to Sunday, at 9pm. A musical appointment, which makes you travel through Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America, not to be missed!
