This emerging solo artist studied music at the Milan Conservatory and spent several years as a singer in the legendary Orchestra Baobab while learning the ropes on the global music stage. Singing in Wolof, Bambara, French and English, Cheick Ibra Fam is a free spirit and the very image of an Africa with endless potential. Named “RFI Talent 2021,” he made his mark with his popular Afro-pop sound that connects him to his roots and incorporated ballads, hip-hop, reggae, funk and soul. His latest album, Peace in Africa, includes well-known artists Cheick Lô and Balla Sidibé—founding member of Orchestra Baobab who passed away in 2020, a few days after his last recording.
