NAXX BITOTA

Born under the sun of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Naxx – whose real name is Alexandra – discovers her passion for music at the age of 9, and pursues it within several choirs of different styles: gospel, traditional, classical, folk. Author, composer and performer, influenced by classical music and popular music of her country, she shows through her compositions, her admiration for the different rhythms of Africa.

Thanks to her artistic generosity, her extraordinary energy, her melodious voice, but especially her very personal sound, she performs on the stages of the International Festival Nuits d’Afrique in collaboration with several local artists, at the Festival Makossa, among others. Committed and very festive, she pursues her inspiration in the “rumba-soukous” style.

In the spring of 2018, she participated in the series “Rythmes au féminin” of the Productions Nuits d’Afrique at Club Balattou. In 2020, she offers four live concerts during the confinement. A way for her to gather and pay tribute to the different parts of Africa (Central Africa, South Africa, East Africa and West Africa).

Her reunion with the public within the framework of the Voices of Women will have a very special flavor. She who has maintained her connection with her community, who has continued to move forward and who has offered a virtual event that is both gentle and immersive, will undoubtedly have much to share with us.
