BLAISE LABAMBA

Blaise Labamba, originally from Congo-Kinshasa, is a leading figure in Canada’s African music scene, skilled in piano, guitar, and percussion. After studying music at the National Institute of Arts in Kinshasa, he joined the band of Congolese star General Defao and accompanied him on various international tours. In 2018, he formed Kotakoli, showcasing his fusion of Congolese rumba, zouk, and soukous with infectious energy. The dynamic performances of Blaise La Bamba & Kotakoli earned them the Bronze Syli at the 15th edition of the Syli d’Or de la Musique du Monde
