Imagine six musicians coming together to create artistic perfection by combining Cuba’s furor, Catalonia’s zaniness, Argentina’s vivacity and Venezuela’s exuberance. It exists and it’s called, Las Karamba. A volcano of melodies, whose explosive energy is born of this fusion, delivering an ingenious blend of rhythms that makes you giddy with an intoxicating sense of joy.

These six bombas don’t hold back as they proudly sing and raise their heads high in praise of women all over the world. Their lyrics range from tender to exhilarating, and a gentle melodic caress can lead to a full-on embrace of lively Cuban brass and percussion rhythms, like on their hit “Voy Subiendo,” a sumptuous song about the power of love and empathy, the means to a more beautiful world. Despite dark times and migratory hardships, Las Karamba’s songs convey optimism and beauty as they move between son, salsa, rumba, cha-cha-cha, timba and even rap. But where does their philosophy of a perpetually overflowing honeypot originate? No doubt from Barcelona, the magical city that brought these six vibrant women together in 2018.

Beyond their stunning presence, each of the six musicians masters her instruments to perfection… Ahyvin sings with relish while playing the güiro, a Cuban and Puerto Rican percussion instrument, Rita is on timbales, Ahylin raps and plays congas, Liviet plays a mean bass, and Natasha and María are behind the fantastic synth arrangements. Since the release of their first album Camino Asi in 2021, they have merged their destinies into one. Nothing will stand in the way of their quest for their ideal, least of all men or a conformist lifestyle, that’s for sure! As they say, “Basta Ya,” freedom is the only way forward… You too can join them on their quest and experience their magic, as crowds have done since their “Te lo digo Cantando” Tour was launched in 2024.
