A native of Senegal, he combines slam poetry, rap and dance, emphasizing his rhythmic movements with percussive effects and layered emotion.

A Senegalese voice at the 2023 Festival International TransAmériques in Montreal, his show dubbed “Thiotiaké” was hailed as an “unforgettable musical journey.” But what’s the story behind this young artist who has shared the stage with Jim Zeller and Karl Tremblay. First of all, some distinguished musicians helped him develop his art, his inner self; then, his following through on this journey, material buried on the surface of things.

At home in a festival environment, JSM has already toured throughout Quebec including Gaspésie, a blues and getaway destination that suits this runner-up of Dakar’s Slam Poetry competition so well. Symbol of Senegal’s hip-hop craze, Malack aimed his sights well in the 2025 Syli d’Or’s rearview mirror, clinching the “Découverte” title.
