Originally from Conakry, Gwada Maga is a Guinean singer and instrumentalist renowned for his ability to modernize Mandinka music while paying tribute to his roots. Heir to a rich cultural tradition—his father was a musician and his mother came from a long line of griots—he first made a name for himself in dance before embracing music as his true calling. Gwada Maga captivates audiences with his unique style, blending traditional melodies, Afrobeat, and trap influences, as exemplified by his single “Originale,” which revisits the classic “Mami Wata.” A rising star on the Guinean scene, he has established himself as a passionate ambassador for his country’s culture, driven by authentic, transgenerational creativity.
