Grèn Sémé
Maloya Gazé — when Réunion Island’s tradition meets pop and electronic energy.
Biography
Grèn Sémé is an evolving maloya quintet driven by the committed and poetic lyrics of Carlo De Sacco.
Their music offers a journey in Creole through a global musical village where French songwriting,
African pop and ternary rhythms from the Indian Ocean (maloya, séga, salegy) come together.
The band has released three albums – Grèn Sémé (2013), Hors Sol (2016) and Zamroza (2022) –
and in April 2024 unveiled the EP Maloya Gazé, a sunny and bold take on maloya,
enhanced with ultra-danceable remixes.
