AFIRKA

Afirka is a Montreal-based band that brings the vibrant folk music of Algeria to life through festive, liberating and unifying performances. Led by passionate musicians, the project reinterprets the raï, chaoui and Kabyle repertoires with a modern energy and rich instrumentation blending darbouka, mandola, guitar and violin. 

A regular on the Montreal scene and at events such as the Nuits d’Afrique International Festival, the band has established itself as a dynamic force on the local world music scene, performing at a growing number of concerts and themed evenings, notably at Club Balattou.

The legendary Club Balattou, and all its team, is happy to welcome you, with the “Cabaret acoustique Nuits d’Afrique”.
It is a whole program that awaits you, especially concocted for the public! You will be able to enjoy live performances every week, from Thursday to Sunday, at 9pm. A musical rendez-vous, which makes you travel through Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America, not to be missed !
