▷ Claudia Lenti y Dulce Vita | Latino rhythms (Italy, Cuba)
Claudia Lenti y Dulce Vita is a singer/songwriter who blends her Italian roots with Latin music, creating a unique fusion that has never been done before in Montreal. By merging popular Italian ballads with Latin rhythms, she sings in Italian, Spanish, English, and French, aiming to bring cultures together and reflect the multicultural landscape of Quebec, Canada. Influenced by both Latin and Italian cultural traditions, she collaborates with local musicians to enrich the Latin music scene while adding her own distinctive touch. In 2024, Claudia Lenti y Dulce Vita performed at notable venues like Le Ministère, Club Balattou (with Septeto de Montreal), Festival Qué-Latino in Quebec City, and Quartier des Spectacles (Italfest). Her music has gained traction, being featured on radio and TV programs, and played at Latin dance events around Montreal, with strong support from the dance community (she is also a dancer). Her latest album, A Mi Manera, released in 2023, includes collaborations with various artists and producers, including Ricky Campanelli. Looking ahead to 2025, Claudia Lenti y Dulce Vita is working on new music and hopes to compete in the Syli D’or, aiming to bring a fresh twist on Latin music to Montreal.
▷ Kozé | Maloya (Reunion Island)
Born from a desire to introduce maloya to the world of Quebec and, more broadly, to Canada, the band Kozé was formed by passionate lovers of this music. Maloya is a transcendental music of connection and sharing, and this is what the band Kozé seeks to convey. Kozé means “to speak” or “to communicate” in Réunion Creole, and through its lyrics and songs, the band shares its message and values. Maloya is not just any music; it combines percussion and song, a beautiful way to make the voices that form its choir resonate with drums and other instruments from Réunion Island, such as the roulèr, kayamb, and sati. Discover Kozé’s maloya, a sweet blend of tradition and modernity.
