FORRÓ DAS COMADRES

Forró das Comadres is a Brazilian cultural project created by singer Silvinha to promote forró beyond Brazil’s borders. Inspired by the rhythms and dances of the Northeast, it highlights the living tradition of forró, carried by the emblematic trio of accordion, zabumba and triangle. With Forró das Comadres, popular energy blends with the excitement of regional festivals to create unforgettable moments. The name of the project pays tribute to João Silva’s song Forró das Comadres, a symbol of female strength and the identity of the Northeast. True to this spirit, it places women at the heart of its artistic approach. For its first edition, Silvinha invited singer and multi-instrumentalist Lara Klaus and singer Julia Pessoa, both from Pernambuco, to help spread the culture of the Northeast through their voices and energy on stage.

CABARET ACOUSTIQUE NUITS D’AFRIQUE – at the Club Balattou
