Because the story of African griots is one of family, this father and son embody its essence. Ivory Coast serves as their creative ecosystem, nurturing the imaginations of Aboulaye Koné and Aboubakar Sidiki. Immersed in Mandingue culture, they learned this unique art from the Burkinabé singer Djeli Baba Kienou. Abdoulaye, also a guitarist, lent his strings to numerous stars of the African continent. He is a transmitter of still-living legends and myths. Koné also showcases his talent within the ensemble Bolo Kan, propelled by the leverage of the Syli d’Or, with the group marking the 2008 and 2009 editions by successively earning the Silver and Gold Awards.
