LA MURGA ENSAMBLE

La Murga Ensamble is a Montreal-based musical collective founded in 2023 by Colombian musicians Mateo Díaz and Juan Quintero, driven by a shared desire to revive the power and spirit of live salsa as it is experienced in Colombia. Rooted in salsa dura, boogaloo, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms, the group reimagines the classic sounds of the 1960s to 1980s with a distinctly contemporary energy. What began as spontaneous jam sessions has grown into a dynamic, nomadic ensemble performing on stages, in venues, and in alternative spaces. Bringing together some of Montreal’s finest Afro-Latin musicians, La Murga embraces an open, collaborative approach that blends live performances with vinyl DJ sets. Each show is a celebration of dance, community, and collective joy through vibrant, infectious salsa.

CABARET ACOUSTIQUE NUITS D’AFRIQUE – at the Club Balattou

The legendary Club Balattou, and all its team, is happy to welcome you, with the “Cabaret acoustique Nuits d’Afrique”.
It is a whole program that awaits you, especially concocted for the public! You will be able to enjoy live performances every week, from Thursday to Sunday, at 9pm. A musical rendez-vous, which makes you travel through Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America, not to be missed !
