MESTIZO

Since its creation in the fall of 2006 in the Côte-des-Neiges neighborhood, the Mestizo group has made it its mission to promote the rich culture of the Andes in Canada and around the world. A true heir to pre-Columbian music, the project explores a universe where indigenous, Spanish, and African sounds intertwine to create a unique musical blend.

Their repertoire, which is at once ancient, modern, and contemporary, draws inspiration from legendary groups such as Kjarkas, Proyección, and Illapu. On stage, Mestizo skillfully combines traditional wind and string instruments to support irresistible traditional rhythms, including the Saya, Huayno, Sanjuanito, Tinku, Cueca, Carnavalito, and Trote.

CABARET ACOUSTIQUE NUITS D’AFRIQUE – at the Club Balattou

The legendary Club Balattou, and all its team, is happy to welcome you, with the “Cabaret acoustique Nuits d’Afrique”.
It is a whole program that awaits you, especially concocted for the public! You will be able to enjoy live performances every week, from Thursday to Sunday, at 9pm. A musical rendez-vous, which makes you travel through Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America, not to be missed !
