TEAM SALSA SEXTET

Team Salsa Sextet embodies the vibrant essence of “Salsa del Barrio,” born on the streets of New York. Founded by Marc Knight, who grew up in the Big Apple, the group taps into the legacy of the New York Sound. As Willie Colón once said, salsa is much more than a rhythm: “it’s a true concept.” Carried by the Latin diaspora, particularly Cuban and Puerto Rican communities, it tells a story of the quest for identity. Blending Afro-descendant influences with jazz and rock, their music fuses tradition with the freedom of improvisation. The sextet celebrates this raw energy through powerful percussion and brass. A staple at Montreal’s Latin festivals, they have built a loyal following of dancers and enthusiasts. On stage, Team Salsa Sextet radiates an irresistible passion for life, for being, and for dancing.
