TONTON IDRISS ( LE VIKING NOIR )

 Idrissa Sidibé, known by his stage names Tonton Idriss or Idriss le Viking Noir, is a Malian artist and presenter born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. He made his stage debut at the dawn of the 2000s, when his fairy godmother bestowed upon him a multidisciplinary gift: theatre, music, dance, singing and storytelling. A pillar of the Tassouma Woyo group in Mali, he collaborated with Toumani Diabaté on ‘Seliba’ before launching his solo career in 2009. Based in Canada since 2019, his music blends the joy of Abidjan with soul, reggae and contemporary sounds.

Recognised in West Africa, Morocco, France and America, he explores all African musical genres. His album Keyzit (2024) illustrates his sensitivity, notably with M’mah Koumba, a tribute to his mother. On stage, Idrissa Sidibé invites the audience to dance and shares his generous music, combining emotion, virtuosity and cultural transmission.
