Productions Nuits d’Afrique presents the showcase concert of the first album of NAXX BITOTA, Thursday June 30th at Club Balattou.

It is also the same day that the worldwide digital release of his album KUETU will take place under the label Disques Nuits d’Afrique / Distribution Believe.

KUETU

A resolutely modern album in homage to his Congolese roots

On this day celebrating the independence of the Congo, Naxx Bitota will unveil her long-awaited first album. Through this album of 12 tracks, the author, composer and performer offers a tribute to her Congolese roots in which she was cradled since her childhood.

Naxx takes us on a journey to the heart of her history by mixing Congolese rhythms, such as Mutuashi, Rumba and Sebene, with refreshing Afro Pop sounds.

Kuetu, which means “home” in Tshiluba (Bantu language), underlines the artist’s desire to return to her roots. In this militant opus, she evokes deep subjects through her texts relating the social inequalities, the living together, but also the stages of the life, happy or not, which make us universally grow.

At the crossroads of Miriam Makeba and Whitney Houston, Naxx Bitota always finds this way to bring together and pay tribute to the different regions of Africa. A commitment without fault that is powerfully present throughout her career.

NOTES BIOGRAPHIQUES

Born under the sun in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Naxx discovered her passion for music at the age of 9 and dreamed of making a career out of it. She pursues this dream by joining several choirs of different styles: gospel, traditional, classical, folk in Congo and then in Belgium.

She crosses the Atlantic as a teenager and settles first in Belgium, then in Quebec in 2008, always with the firm intention to continue to express her immense creative talent.

Thanks to her artistic generosity, her extraordinary energy, her passion for singing, but especially her very personal sound, she performs on several local and international stages. Committed but very festive, she pursues her inspiration in her style “Mutuashi-Rumba-Sebene” of great quality.
