BIOGRAPHY
This American-Haitian-Cameroonian musical force is three-times brilliant. Like a flagship on the horizon, the musical trio surfaced in Montreal in 2017, seamlessly commanding bass, guitar, synth and drums as if there were four of them… A remarkable, almost intimist approach that delivers decidedly jazzy tunes with hip-hop and R&B overtones, which quickly earned them a following. With eyes closed, you can hear the influence of The Roots or of D’Angelo’s enchanting voice and be immediately transported to the New York alternative scene.
In addition to drawing from those three musical genres, the trio holds a few surprises, like funky makossa vibes and kompa rhythms, directing you to the “Pearl of the Antilles,” because music is really just one endless celebration, whether under palm trees or on the street… even after the last call of the night, Only the Righteous will still be there to keep everyone grooving with their subtle and warm tunes, delivered in English, French, Creole and the Cameroonian Bamileke language. It would be a serious mistake indeed to miss out on these rugged guys grooving to the notes of those delicious chords. One of Montreal’s best kept secrets…
