JUSTIN ADAMS & MAURO DURANTE

Justin Adams, guitarist, producer, and composer, has created wonders with Robert Plant in the Sensational Space Shifters. His production on the landmark albums by Tinariwen and Rachid Taha highlights his sense of North African groove, while his award-winning collaborations with Juldeh Camara combined the griot tradition with the raw spirit of the blues. This collaboration with Mauro Durante was born from a concert conducted by Ludovico Einaudi, the legendary Notte de Taranta in Puglia, where the two men played together for the first time, recognizing kindred spirits in the trance rhythms of the Taranta that transcend “melancholy” or the blues. Last year, they performed their own concert at the BBC Proms (with Justin Adams as their guest) and won Best Group at the Songlines Music Awards.
