Philippe Massé Trio | Contemporary Oriental Jazz (Canada)

Montreal-based double bassist and composer Philippe Massé stands out for his unique style, where modern jazz intertwines with Middle Eastern music, Latin sounds, and even traces of metal. This fusion of influences gives rise to a singular music—profound, daring, and richly textured. In 2020, he founded his trio, driven by a desire to push the boundaries of Western jazz by incorporating Eastern colors and contemporary textures. The final lineup came together in 2023, alongside his longtime collaborators from the Université de Montréal: Sacha Desjardins on piano and Alexandre Massé on drums. From their collaboration emerged their debut album Le vent, released in 2025, a reflection of their world—free, refined, and steeped in sonic exploration.

Carmen Lienqueo | Andean Electro-Folk (Chile)

Carmen Lienqueo is a Chilean singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist whose deep, magnetic voice draws on the musical traditions of Latin America. A powerful contemporary folk voice from Chile’s Mapuche community, she bridges ancestral roots and modern creativity.​ For over twenty years, she has explored folkloric music, notably with the Chilean‑Colombian group Makina Kandela, before pursuing a solo career marked by poetry and social engagement. Her artistic world blends popular roots, spirituality, and a contemporary perspective on today’s world, positioning her within a new Latin American folk generation.​ She has performed on major international stages such as WOMAD and Lollapalooza, as well as prominent Latin American festivals like Cosquín and various jazz and world‑music events. Through her music and stage presence, she continues to build bridges between cultures and generations, affirming her role as a committed and unifying artistic voice.
