Los Vega

Drawing on family traditions spanning five generations, Los Vega’s son jarocho, for which the band is a true standard-bearer, welcomes us into the rich ancestral heritage of Veracruz. Each concert is like a vibrant fiesta, a fandango carried by percussions, jaranas and requintos, and punctuated by percussive zapateado dance steps. Not only has Los Vega performed on many prestigious stages, including Carnegie Hall under the direction of Philip Glass, the group also contributed to the soundtrack of the film Frida, which won the Oscar for Best Original Score.
