SABOR 19

In December 2017, two friends met by chance at a dance party in Montreal. As salsa enthusiasts, they decided to form Sabor 19, a band dedicated to Latin music. Why the number 19? It symbolizes both the year 2019—the year they came into their own—and Montreal’s 19 boroughs.

For over six years, Sabor 19 has been thrilling audiences with authentic, energetic, and unifying Latin music. The group has performed on iconic stages and at festivals such as the Nuits d’Afrique International Festival (Montreal), Salsa on St. Clair (Toronto), Salsa Tremblant, and the Plains of Abraham (Quebec City). In 2025, they released two original tracks, available on Spotify and all major music platforms. Today, the Sabor 19 orchestra brings together ten musicians from Haiti, Colombia, Mexico, Morocco, Turkey, and Canada. This true cultural melting pot shares a common goal: to get the world dancing and to convey human warmth and the joy of the streets through music.
