Fabiana Cozza has one of the most stunning voices to emerge from Brazil in recent years, and is considered by her countrymen one of the nation’s leading interpreters of Afro-Brazilian music.

Her repertoire reflects knowledge of the many cultures of Brazil, as well as love for the many ways music was born from the African diaspora. Many of her songs are written by young Brazilian composers who share her interest in the relationship of Brazilian music to other cultures of the New World.

Her instinct for good writing, brought to life with her extraordinary voice, results in music that is sensuous, evocative, and powerful. Her newest album Dos Santos (2020) has been considered highlighted by critics as one of the most important releases of recent years.

In parallel with her artistic career, Fabiana Cozza is developing her doctorate in Music at the prestigious Unicamp (State University of Campinas) on the voice and Afro-Diasporic drums. The research was inspired by her workshop “Corpo da Voz” for singers, actors and those interested in investigating the voice as a creative power, a path to self-knowledge and artistic development. Cozza has expanded her work as a teacher, thinker of Brazilian culture and researcher beyond the Brazilian territory, having conquered students and interlocutors in California, Israel, Cuba, France, Cape Verde, Argentina, among other countries where she has carried her art.
