Not just anyone gets to be the opening act for Alpha Blondy and Tiken Jah Fakoly! The charismatic Kabey Konate, a Nuits d’Afrique favourite, accentuates his reggae with traditional Mandinka vibes, giving it its own unique flavour, one imbued with ancient wisdom. Professed Griot of Reggae, his performances are colourful and authentic. His humanistic lyrics and infectious enthusiasm earned him the 2022 Marley d’or award for best concert, in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.  For his upcoming concert, he will be accompanied by his older brother, Dramane konaté, world-renowned percussionist celebrated for his powerful technique, who has played with the likes of Ami Sacko and Bassékou Kouyaté.
