KABEY KONATE & FARAFINA ROOTS

Kabey Konate, a Burkinabé artist, started his career in dance before gaining recognition through competitions and rap performances. Recording his first demo in 2002 in Abidjan, he later moved to Burkina Faso in 2005, becoming a percussionist and integrating into the local music scene. Concurrently, he developed a style combining reggae and world music with Manding influences. After making his stage debut in 2006, he released the albums “Douaou” (2010) and “Africa Elections” (2014). He took part in international festivals, collaborating with artists like Alpha Blondy. Currently, he is working on his upcoming album for 2017, infusing his artistic commitment with his voice and lyrics deeply rooted in Africa.
