A multi-instrumentalist and notable sax and flute player, Señor Artega amazes audiences with his artistic virtuosity and charisma. Recognized last year by RFI Musique for his remarkable performance on Corneille’s album, Encre rose, Giovanny Artega can truly feel proud of extraordinary path. A musical accomplice of the diva Omara Portuondo, he concentrated his brilliance in The Cuban All-Stars. In Quebec, Nathalie Choquette also sought him out. Typically sharing the stage with elite musicians, from Havana to Montreal, he dazzles with his Afro-Cuban virtuosity, in addition to the jazz, R&B and soul genres that also define him. The affection he holds for his adopted city is evident in his song “Así es Montréal,” its video a joyful succession of his favourite places in an obvious “I Love” mode.
