Proud to honour his inspiring “big brother” Papa Wemba on his YouTube channel, the universe of the singer-songwriter and choreographer, Guynard Mungu, draws its variations from within the Congolese soul and the immense territory, with its two capitals, Kinshasa and Brazzaville, and its own unique form of cultural expression. It is a universe of song and dance, and the now world-famous rumba style that has been inscribed on UNESCO’s List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.  Mungu, who also goes by the name Inspecto, reconstitutes the party-rousing recipe, incorporating the spirit of his Central African muse. He invites couples and the most timid to draw closer together, despite glare of everyday lights, and to focus their eyes on a colourful tomorrow. Faithful to the rumba spirit, he extracts its essence and invokes an ambiance of the common folk to recreate community, all generations combined. A rendezvous that promises pure joy.
