His strong singing skills and authenticity earned great acclaim last spring from Montreal’s public at the 2023 edition of the Syli d’Or de la musique de monde. The singer-songwriter carries with him songs with the flavour of his beloved Haiti which he left behind him… An life experience that became rooted in his Montreal life on his album Melanin News. Ketsmy is a mixologist of trends, in French, English and Creole. Between solid hip-hop and soulful vocals, he lets the words infiltrate into his musical story. Extremely versatile, he surfs on the wave of blues-rock, a chameleon of the neo-soul trend, follower of Afrobeat.

His themes, never trivial, denounce the oppression of his brothers and sisters. You could even hear their grievences between two raps, a recitation coming from the depths of the singer. His songs serve the cause of the global urban movement for the eradication of injustice. His Tabula rasa of the obstacles to freedom, he chants on Woy, a totally addictive piece. Proud patriot and defender of the Black credo in which he recalls the almighty, Kesmy may well go to places where it is least expected…
