TAJOA is a professional troupe of multidisciplinary artists practicing the ZOUGLOU WOYO, originally from the Ivory Coast.

Zouglou is a popular and urban musical genre born in Côte d’Ivoire in the 90’s which testifies to the social realities experienced by the Ivorian youth.

It carries, in a humorous way, socio-political messages advocating an ideal of justice and peace by defending the importance of love, friendship, or brotherhood.

Zouglou is also presented in the form of wôyô, a music using traditional instruments (tam tam, bottles…) accompanied by songs that deal rhythmically with everyday stories. It is performed acoustically and most often live. It is also called “easy ambiance”.

Innovative musical genre, created by and for young people, Zouglou is inspired by the songs that accompanied school sports events, rhythms and melodies of the different regions of Côte d’Ivoire.
