Blues has led to the unlikely meeting of Swiss musician Thierry Jaccard and Mauritian musician Yannick Nanette. From their roots firmly planted in the ’20s grows an atypical arborescence, influenced by modern sounds. With their new album Sadela, The TWO plunge into the Creole imagination of the Indian Ocean. Sadela, which means “the two” in Mauritian Creole, is a musical itinerary that explores island blues known as Sega, Maloya… Through this work, Nanette and Jaccard recount their hybrid, mixed identities, in perpetual flux, and thus echo the “creolization” of the world as envisioned by the poet Edouard Glissant.
