From February 13 to April 25, 2024, every Tuesday and Wednesday at 8:30pm at the Club Balattou, you can participate to the selection of the 9 bands ‘’Coup de coeur’’ who will be send in semi-finales !

▷ GASBA | Raï fusion (Algeria)
The Gasba project was initially born from the meeting of two Montreal musicians (Rafik Abdeladim, guitarist, and Yassine Aissa El Bey, bassist) who came together around the same idea: to revitalize the Montreal art scene by sharing rai. The group’s name was inspired by the reed flute used in traditional Algerian music, notably in Oranese bédoui (the forerunner of rai), known as Guésba or Gasba. The Guesba group’s music is a blend of typically rai sounds with other musical styles such as rock, flamenco and reggae.
▷ LES TOCHESS | Cumbia (Colombia, Mexico, Cuba)
Less Toches is the musical collision of five explosive characters, an unexpected and refreshing big bang of cumbia on the island of Montreal. The eternal magic of the peasant troubadours of the South acquires here a poetic, passionate and amusing air: Less Toches takes its name from a Latin American bird, and a Colombian expression meaning “clumsy”. Humor and trance translate into a fresh and deep interpretation of the peasant and riverside spirit of cumbia and accordion music. Doors open at 8:00pm! Free entrance. Attend three concerts and become a jury for the artists of tomorrow!

Be part of the adventure: attend as many concerts as you want for free and rate your favourite artists each night. You will be invited to fill out an evaluation form, it is important to EVALUATE THE TWO PERFORMANCES of the evening and attend the three performances.
