Mamakaffé, whose real name is Mariam Cherif Brou Legros, is a Franco-Ivorian singer with the soul of a Jamaican. A committed traveler, it was in the land of Bob Marley that she began her musical career in 2013. Her passion for Reggae and Rastafarianism led her to evolve within Jamaican culture, where she settled for 10 years.

Just one year after taking her first steps in the music world, she won Best Reggae Song at the Akademia Awards (U.S.A.) with The Beauty of Jah Plan. She then became the first African artist to be distributed by the American label VP Records. In 2017, her album Slave was shortlisted for the Grammy Awards in the “Best Reggae Album” category.

Between Peter Tosh, Lucky Dube and Bob Marley, her inspirations stick to her skin, and have undeniably opened the doors to music for her. Her first steps were taken in English, sailing between Jamaica, France, English-speaking and French-speaking Africa. In love with her native country, she criss-crosses Africa, from Senegal to Rwanda, via Ghana, Burkina Faso, Uganda, Ethiopia and Kenya, where she already enjoys a certain notoriety.
