BO DIAW • Single Jambaar

Bo Diaw presents the first eponymous single from his upcoming debut album Jambaar. This joyful uptempo track features modern afro pop rhythms is written as a hymn of resilience.

Jambaar means warrior in Wolof.  This track is the story of a warrior who traces the values and resilience of his ancestors.  Written and composed by Bo with a video clip directed by Video by Jay tells the story of this warrior in an imaginary universe symbolized by the forest.

Through this single, Bo tells his ancestors’ history that were enslaved and describes through this track, the development of the resilience that have allowed Africans to be where they are today.

The image of the warrior in the forest who survives, learns, grows, adapts himself and succeeds in returning to his village to become its leader when he has become mature via an initiatory journey symbolizes the African resilience that Bo wanted to illustrate.
