Disques Nuits d'Afrique / Believe
Disques Nuits d’Afrique is pleased to announce the release of KizaVibe, KIZABA’s new album, available on all digital platforms since November 18th, 2022.
KIZAVIBE
Kizaba proposes an electrifying and unifying global Afrofuturism that perfectly integrates Congolese traditions with a modern and assertive Afrobeat. The artist seeks to infuse electro, house and contemporary music with melodies and rhythms from African traditions, creating a unique Afrofuturist universe strongly inspired by Congolese tradition.
His new opus KIZAVIBE comes straight from the future!
Inspired as much by African pioneers such as Papa Wemba as by international artists such as Daft Punk, David Guetta or Stromae, Kizaba has multiplied his trips to his native country, the DR Congo, to shape and refine the artistic direction of the new Afro-electro-Congolese wave that he masters to perfection. Recorded between Montreal and Kinshasa, this album is the result of the collaboration between the author, composer, performer and multi-instrumentalist Lionel Kizaba and the director, music producer and Montreal DJ Pierre Belliveau, alias Gone Deville, who has won the Canadian DMC championship, worked with a wide range of international artists such as Martin Roth, Wu-Tang Clan, Pierre Kwenders, Shah Frank, and has been published by leading electronic labels.
Since July 2021, Kizaba has released five singles: Soso, Naturelle, Tu aimes danser, Kituamina and Ingratitude preparing the release of this new 13-track opus featuring numerous collaborations with hot artists including Luciane Dom, Vox Sambou, Marley C, Marti Stone, and recent Polaris Prize winner Pierre Kwenders. The result is amazing. KIZAVIBE is calibrated for radios, clubs and festivals while keeping a fresh wind and a catchy naivety. The texts are simple and unifying, supported by a heavy tempo where the Congolese guitar is omnipresent. Kizaba is there and makes us take off immediately for Africa!
