Ayrad “deconstructs the codes of Moroccan music and takes hold of them, fermenting them slowly to inject real punch and to add a kick to the many twists and turns” (Le Devoir, 2018). Ayrad defines himself as a gathering of cultures, a Constantinople of melodies and beats from the four corners of the earth. Nominated for a Juno Award and winner of a Félix in 2015, this anti-conformist group explores various genres, embracing pop, rock, electro, funk, dancehall, Tuareg blues, raï, bhangra, assouf, Afro-Peruvian beats and Celtic sounds.
