Waiting eagerly to make the city shake to the beats of world music, the Festival InternationalNuits d’Afrique presented by TD invites Montrealers to discover The Faces of Nuits d’Afrique, a
multimedia work that will be projected onto the most alluring façades in the Quartier des Spectacles from August 13 to 15 and August 20 to 22, 2020.

Conceived by artist Jérôme Delapierre jointly with Eden Creative, this multimedia show, projected onto four buildings in the Quartier des Spectacles, will let us see and hear the talents of four Montréal artists or groups who are emblematic of Nuits d’Afrique: singer and griot Djely Tapa (2020 JUNO Award – Best World Music Album and 2019-2020 Radio-Canada Revelation), the charismatic Mateo (2020-2021 Radio-Canada Revelation), the exuberant Naxx Bitota, and the Benkadi troupe of acrobats and musicians.

This monumental visual work also offers an interactive and co-creative experience. Visitors will be invited to dance in front of a giant screen installed on the ground and equipped with a 3D camera that will capture, in shadow puppet form, their dancing silhouettes visible in real time on this virtual fresco.

Through this activity, the Festival international Nuits d’Afrique, presented by TD offers Montrealers and visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy a fun and creative experience that they will be able to share live on social media using the hashtags #dansafrique and #FINA2020.

N.B. : An information officer will be on site to enforce physical distancing.
